You might know that we seven chakras that provide us with a source of energy. But do you know which chakra is associated with sexuality?
The second chakra (Svadhisthana in Sanskrit), otherwise known as the sacral chakra, is where we awaken our kundalini energy. It resides in our hips, sacrum, and genitals. Hence, this intimate energy chakra is the center where we experience the joys of intimacy, creativity, pleasure, our desires, and sexuality.
It relates to water, tears, orgasm, menstruation, and urination. Therefore, it represents change and movement in our bodies that are essential for life. It’s an even-numbered* chakra and feminine in nature. Thus the second chakra opens us up to feelings of love, relaxation, emotions, intuition, and compassion.
*Note: Odd-numbered masculine chakras open us to productivity and action.
