I think can hear your answer already :) From most of you, I’m sure your response to this question is a resounding, “Yes!” And I say “Bravo!” to that. So now that we’re all clear that you’re finished with mental mediocrity, let’s move on …
5 Ways of Mind Manifesting and Mastery
1. Change the D**n Subject
Every time – and I mean every time – you catch yourself thinking about something you don’t like, don’t want or doesn’t feel good, change the damn subject – immediately. No excuses, no exceptions. Negative focus brings negative results so why bother?
2. Be A Gratitude Machine
Isn’t it really high past time to quit ALL the griping about what you don’t want? Isn’t it time to start being a maniacal, Thank-You Machine? I mean, why not? If you look back at any or all the focus you’ve given to the things you don’t want in your life, can you honestly say that it improved your situation? … I didn’t think so. Look, I know it takes practice, and I know it’s easy to forget – for the old brain wiring to go on automatic. But if you really want mind manifesting power, then it’s really time to be grateful for everything – all the time.
3. Get Some Space
Mental space that is. I know there are, in fact, times when you have to give some focus to the less-than-ideal circumstances in life. A car breaks down, your teen goes off the deep end, you’re facing financial distress, divorce or a PIA employer. I understand these can be challenging, if not downright frightening scenarios. So what you need to do is get some space between your thoughts and your greater awareness. Remember: You Are Not Your Thoughts. You see, it’s the thoughts about a situation that can trigger ongoing emotional distress, so when you get some space from your thoughts (through regular meditation or just determined, conscious awareness), you can create emotional detachment, and then move into clarity for making decisions.
4. Lose the Boob Tube
I know I just said this last week, but I’ll say it again (only differently this time). The TV is a Negitude Machine. If you want to shape your brain so that it works for you, then getting mesmerized by the 21st century’s equivalent of intellectual heroin is really not your friend.
5. Get over Yourself
If you start taking it all – your hopes, goals, manifesting desires and most importantly, your self – too seriously, then manifestation (to say nothing of life in general) becomes a burden rather than a joy. So take it easy. Find the humor in things. Laugh at your own foibles, forgive easily and keep looking on the bright side.
