The odds of you being born are 1 in 400 trillion. It’s amazing that you’re here, and without a doubt there’s a reason. You can change the world without finding the cure for cancer or inventing a solution to poverty. There are opportunities for change everywhere you look.

I know you’re heart—you’re inspired to make a difference, you want a peaceful planet, and you are part of the connection evolution. But sometimes you might feel like it’s not enough, you might even feel powerless. It’s in those moments where you can turn to these simple ways to make an impact and turn inaction and rigidity into flow and empowerment. Here are 27 ways that you can change the world.

1. Look out for your neighbors

It’s easy to donate money to a charity that helps people a world away from you. It’s harder to reach out and help those people close to you that may be struggling. Even just a phone call or a cup of tea can make a difference.

2. Be better than yesterday

Give yourself permission to evolve. You are a microcosm of the universe and the universe is in constant motion and flux. Each day that you’re alive, let yourself grow and transform—as above, so below.

3. Talk to strangers

Strangers are just friends you haven’t met yet. Put aside your fears and the conditioning that keeps you stuck in your comfort zone. Be open to different ideas, cultures and perspectives and you will learn.

4. Grow food

Plant a seed. Water it, and watch it grow. Share your bounty with others. This may be the most peaceful and revolutionary thing you can do.

5. Focus on commonality

Stop focusing on what sets you apart and start concentrating on what unites you with your brothers and sisters. None of us are so different, we all want the same basic things.

6. Make your health a priority

A healthy human makes for a healthy Earth. The funny thing about health is that what’s healthy for humans is healthy for the Earth. What harms us is just as harmful for the world around us.

7. Do what you love

Share your authentic gifts with the world and you will inspire change. Even if you don’t do what you love for a living, find a way to do it regardless. If you haven’t discovered it yet, trust that you will and never give up.

8. Make time to meditate

If every child was taught in school how to meditate, the world would be a different place. Meditation will help you to facilitate real peace within yourself, and that kind of inner change creates a ripple effect outward.

9. Cultivate compassion

Compassion is the currency of the heart. It can be given without limitation, and in return you naturally reside in a state of connection.

10. Give from your heart

Give without expectations. Give without judgment. Give without a reason. Just keep giving what you can and never stop.

11. Go somewhere you’ve never been

Your perspective is like a seed. The more you water it with new experiences, the more it grows.

12. Turn off the TV

Silence the noise that is designed to create drama and do something truly relaxing.

13. Be grateful for what you have

You’re shown to always strive for more, but you know what. It’s okay to be happy with what you have. In fact, it’s amazing to feel truly grateful and content with the here and now.

14. Don’t be afraid to ask for more

On the flipside—as you grow and evolve, you get to ask the universe for more. When you’re ready, you’ll receive it. It’s that easy.

15. Question your conditioning

Question the assumptions that you impose on reality because of what someone else told you was truth. Never stop questioning, and likewise you will never stop transforming.

16. Be love in action

Love when you’re sitting in traffic. Love when you’re on hold with customer service. Love when you’re frustrated and afraid. Just keep choosing love.

17. Be out of this world

The bible says to be in the world yet not of it. All around you is hustle, scarcity and fear—but you don’t have to take it in. Create an invisible shield of love and connection and you can move through the world unsusceptible to the forces that rob you of your divine power.

18. Choose love over fear

You always have a choice—love or fear. When you’ve got your back up against the wall, remember that you can choose love. The whole world would transform if each person acknowledge this simple choice before lashing out in fear.

19. Accept your flaws

Your flaws are beautiful, and they don’t make you any less perfect. Embrace all that you are, and you’ll discover that you’re more capable of accepting others as they are.

20. Light up the world with laughter

Heaviness dissipates when you let yourself release into the utter hilarity of life as we know it. If you’re able to laugh at yourself, at the universal absurdities that surround you, everything lightens, and laughter is contagious.

21. Make art

Whether your art is cooking a delicious meal, writing a poem, painting a cloudy sky or playing an instrument—do it as often as possible. Art in all its forms makes the world a more beautiful place.

22. Practice surrender

You can’t control the world around you, you can’t control others, you can’t control so many things—so what can you do? You can surrender. You can trust the universe. You can let the burden of responsibility that isn’t rightfully yours fall away.

23. Ask better questions

The quality of your life is shaped by the quality of your questions. Keep asking questions and probing deeper than the surface.

24. Expand your self-worth

You’re so much more than you think you are. Remind yourself of your cosmically connected nature whenever you’re feeling inadequate. If just one person acknowledges their own divinity, the world shifts.

25. Activate presence

Presence lifts the veils of illusion and allows you to see things as they are in the moment. Be present to the smells, sights, emotions, expressions and sensations of each moment and you’ll open up a portal to deepened awareness.

26. Trust the process

Birth is painful. But in the end, a new life emerges. In the same way, birthing a new world is not easy, but trust the process and surrender to the greater plan. Release the burden of control and simply embrace the love that is present everywhere.

27. Stand up for what you believe in

Speak your truth. Share your message. Stand up for what you believe is important. Do all of this with love in your heart and witness the world change before your eyes.
