People Come into Your Life For a Reason, a Season or a Lifetime

Do you ever wonder if there’s really a reason certain people come into your life? If so, this poem we stumbled across offers a though-provoking explanation.

It’s by an unknown author, so we don’t know who to credit, but whoever it is has captured something so meaningful when it comes to the relationships in our lives. We thought the message was so powerful that we wanted to share it with you here.

Enjoy.

People come into your path for a reason, a season or a lifetime

When you know which one it is, you will know what to do with that person.

When someone is in your life for a REASON it is usually to meet a need you have expressed.

They have come to assist you through a difficulty…

To provide you with guidance and support…

To aid you physically, emotionally or spiritually…

They may seem like they are a godsend, and they are.

They are there for the reason you need them to be.

Then without any wrongdoing on your part, or at an inconvenient time, this person will say or do something to bring the relationship to an end.

Sometimes they die…

Sometimes they walk away…

Sometimes they act up and force you to take a stand….

What we must realize is that our need has been met, our desire fulfilled…

Their work is done.

The prayer you sent up has now been answered and now it is time to move on.

Some people come into your life for a SEASON.

Because your turn has come to share, grow or learn.

They bring you an experience of peace or make you laugh.

They may teach you something you have never done.

They usually give you an unbelievable amount of joy.

Believe it, it is real. But only for a season.

LIFETIME relationships teach you lifetime lessons.

Things you must build upon to have a solid emotional foundation.

Your job is to accept the lesson, love the person, and put what you have learned to use in all other relationships and areas of your life.

It is said that love is blind, but friendship is clairvoyant.

Thank you for being a part of my life…

Whether you were a reason, a season or a lifetime

  • Life is such a gift, then why do I feel
Like a can of Vegetable soup dented
And rusted just sitting on the shelf
Alongside of the new, shiny cans
With their lables all bright and sunny
But here I sit, day in-day out
And people pass me by, shove me to the back
Yes, I feel like a can of Vegetable soup
I'm just as good as the rest but no one is
Taking the time to get to know me
If they would only choose me, put me in
Cart and onto that conveyor belt of life
Yes, if they brought me home and opened
Me up they would find that I still have all
Of my letters from A right down to Z and they would
Also see my deep red broth and as soon as they put
Me on the stove to cook they'd smell my rich aroma
So do you see what you're passing up when you
Leave me on the shelf?? Yes, I may look different
From the others and maybe I don't seem to fit in
Like the others but hey there, give me a chance to
Bring you happiness, to fill you up with my goodness
To fortify you and make the emptiness go away
So yes, I feel like a can of Vegetable soup all dented
And sitting at the back of the shelf but please take me
Please bring me home with you yes, please don't leave
Me on the shelf alone and destined to be thrown out
Yes, please don't let my shelf life be so brief because
I'm surely worth a second glance, second chance so
I feel like a can of Vegetable soup but I still have all
My letters and as you pour me into the bowl I'll spell
    Something wonderful for you....
