Mainstream science cannot readily accept astral projection because it cannot be duplicated in a controlled environment such as in a lab. Although some natural projectors have demonstrated this ability under professional monitoring, it still needs to be more widely controlled before it can be accepted.
And it is not like we can go into the astral planes and pick up souvenirs to bring back as showpieces. It’s the same as traveling to the moon. People were so in awe with the artifacts brought back that even a tiny grain was proof that the journey did happen. People need proof. But is that really necessary?
We simply lack the tools and techniques to monitor astral projection when it happens. But imagine if we had something like an electromagnetic pulse device, or if you’ve watched the show ‘Inception’, a machine that could hook us up and help us astral project, now imagine what the world would be like then?
There are far reaching implications with this possibility. With any significant advancement or discovery in science, the potential for abuse always exists. Just look at what the discovery of atomic energy did, or medications that are now more commonly used as drugs.
The moment we can prove that astral projection does happen and can be monitored, the world as we know it would come to an end. Here’s what could happen:
Imagine what would happen to the financial market, lottery, elections and sporting events? Because we all know that time and space can be transcended in the astral, who knows what kind of abuse might happen there. There is no way huge organizations or government will allow astral projection to rule.
Although astral projection has been widely accepted and practiced in the east for a long time, it’s still a new concept in the west. This is partly due to our religion. Maybe it’s our religion that censored all notions of the soul being able to leave the body or the power of the mind. Maybe it’s possible that religious leaders fear the loss of power over their people. When people astral travel and they know that there’s more to life than what is here on earth, these religious institutions will have no followers.
The moment we understand that the physical body is just a shell, imagine what people would do. They’d take their bodies for granted. They will no longer struggle to live in the physical world with the ailments of the physical body. Undeveloped souls may even take the easy way out of this life through suicide and listless living. Why would a person, full of problems in physical life, want to live when he can access the glories of the astral? But what they don’t know is that these very problems are helping that person to grow spiritually and to learn valuable lessons.
But we can’t deny that if astral projection was widely accepted, the potential for healing would be massive. Sickness could be detected in the aura without going through the sufferings of physical tests.
And of course we’d no longer have to deal with plane tickets and crafty travel agents. Why take a 16-hour flight when you could travel the entire world and leap through universes in a blink?
Wish so much at stake, astral projection will never be allowed into mainstream science. But maybe, just maybe, in the secret labs unknown to us, astral projection has already been proven to exist. Sssshhh…

There are so many things inconclusive with this article. I also assume that you have not Astrally projected yet yourself, so you are more biased than weighing the options in this topic.
1.) First of all, the economy is already not working very well, and never really has. There has always been a huge wealth gap between the rich and the poor. When the masses realize how messed up that is of course they're going to be upset; in fact they are already upset. So if you mean the rich people not being able to have low-wage-slaves then I suppose you are right.
2.) Also, what is wrong with not having a religious belief or not following an institution? Isn't it just important for people to find what is true for themselves? This is the reason that there are so many religions today, there is no one size fits all.
3.) My goodness, there are ethical dilemmas all over this last part. When you AP it is a life changing experience. It teaches you that you have the power to control your destiny, and that you are the one who decides what meaning your life has.
Also if someone decides that they don't want to live anymore why should someone else be able to dictate that they have to keep living? Yes, we all have a right to live, but do we have a right to choose our death? Million Dollar Baby anyone?
Contrary this article, Astral Projection has been documented throughout the history of the world and it is not a secret, it is just uncommon knowledge. Google the Monroe Institute, that guy who founded that has been studying it for years. Note: there isn't even any scientific evidence to prove AP exists, however, once you experience it you cannot deny it happened to you. You don't have to agree with me or anything the Monroe institute says, but you cannot refute that: Your experience is subjective, and that you are entitled to your own decisions and beliefs.
I believe that many minds do not encompass neither do they want to encompass astral projection. Fear cripples the hearts and minds of many allowing deception to creep in and they feel its for the worse or its the devil. Ignorance truly is bliss. This world we live in has many preconceived notions about how life is suppose to go and God forbid someone with an idea to better living takes a stand and tries to introduce some healing through meditation or temporary freedom through astral projection. Prejudice is a contagious disease that plague the minds of women, men, and children alike. Its sad so many will go through life untapping their true potential and resources that so many know and believe they can ascertain. I welcome astral projection because I am all for enlightenment and knowing thyself. However, what I am not for is accusatoins and claims from a world that is too afraid to even try it to get a true understanding of what it truly means to be able to do such a thing.

I think there should be no worry about the bad consequences of Astral Projection. As the Laws of Universe do not fail, and the one, basic Law is that everything happens for our Spiritual Evolution, Astral Projection will really happen when the time for it comes. Everything in its time, so to speak. Don't worry, be happy and wait for it (actively).

My experience is the astral plane is exactly the mirror of your own Life, like dream realm. If you are in the 'zombie land' it is a indication that you have a shadow zombie side. What you are Will return to its place. People who see light is a person who attract light. If someone tell you that astral plane is a dangerous place, be carefull he may be dangerous himself. If you feel bad and depress, that what you gonna see there. So be in peace before doing a trip there.
This is absolutly true. We are what we believe and we attract that which we think on. Eliminate fear and always focus on all that is good, benifitial and joyous. Expand in the light and use the light to help others.

Astral travel is an interesting topic.
You are making people think that every one can do it.But you must also make people know that there are meseries on the Lower Astral Plane. So it cannot be an escape from the Physical Plane. It is important to know that the place you get in any of the Seven Astral Planes- Lower to Higher-- depends upon your Karmic A/C in this Physical Life. So no one should live Life in illusion. This is a life we have choosen at the time of Birth. So no Regrets. Live it, Enjoy it . There can be Miracles but there is no Magic that is going to happen.Only Meditate
