Today I’m pointing this blog back at you :)  Yep, that’s right, I’m looking for feedback & I hope you’ll help … You see, I just LOVE books on positive thinking and would appreciate your recommendations for more. As the holidays approach, I thought I’d use this time of year to spread cheer by gifting uplifting books to friends and family. And what better place to get the best suggestions than here, where wise, positive minds gather? :)

Now I’ve got my favs, to be sure (see my short list below), but I’d love to create an awesome, HUGE list of books on positive thinking. Why? Because I know that different words ‘speak’ to different peeps. The kind of book I might want to give my Catholic mom will be quite different than one I’d gift my new-age girlfriend or neo-pagan neighbor. (Plus I’m sure this list would give YOU some great gift ideas, too :))

Will you help me?

It’s really simple – just 2 steps

  1.  Just leave the name of at least one of your favorite books on positive thinking in the comments below (more is okay, too!); and …
  2. Share this post with anyone you know who might also like to contribute to the list :)

Pretty simple, eh? Now, here’s a few of my favs to get this list started … (oh! and thanks in advance for your help with this – I really appreciate it!)

  • One of my favorite ‘perspective detective’ books that brilliantly changed the landscape of the ‘American dream’ was “Your Money or your Life” by Joe Dominguez.  He guides the reader in discovering the difference between ‘making a living’ and making a life.  I realize that this is a financial book of sorts, probably not exactly what you were asking for, but I feel this book was really that exceptional in revealing the true effects of the pursuit of money.  As a former foreign currency trader, very familiar with risk/reward ratios and taking risk – no book I’ve read has ever impacted my soul as this one has!  There’s much more to life than money and stuff.  The best things in life really are free!  Thanks for this awesome article and idea!

In the very beginning of my search I was blessed with ‘In the Meantime’ by Iyanla Vanzant.  Since then Esther & Jerry Hicks, Dr. Wayne Dyer, and Finer Minds have loomed large.

Born to Win, this book helped me with anxiety issues, years ago!!  It also helped my sister when she was having a struggle with bulimia.  I can’t remember the authors name, although it was copyright in the 70’s!  Chicken Soup for the Soul are always good.  Think and Grow Rich, Og Mandino.  The Power of Positive Thinking, Norman VIncent Peale.
