We learn that through Neuroplasticity, the key to building up the positive areas of the brain is directly related to our resistance to negative thoughts. So while it may feel like we are going crazy trying to stop negative thoughts from bubbling up into our consciousness, this is actual weigh lifting for a positive mind.
Neuroplastiticy shows that just the make up of our thoughts can lead to a healthier, more active and normal brain. So, it’s a conscious choice, simular to how we can choose to put healthy food into our mouths, it’s got to be a choice to put those positive thoughts into our mind.
This talk is incredibly brainy, as you’d expect, but also incredibly fascinating when considering how our gratitude practices and meditation techniques are actually shaping how our brains function. He also gives insights into the ways of self directed brain change.
