How much positivity do we need in our lives?
This is a question Barbara Fredrickson, Kenan Distinguished Professor of Psychology, has set about exploring through her research to determine the “positivity ratio” needed to maintain a happy and healthy state of being, and even improve our biological make-up.
In this interesting 7-minute talk, she explains what she believes the ideal ratio to be, and why finding a balance with the yin and yang of our emotions (i.e. the good and the bad), will put us on the right path to getting the correct dosage of positivity.
