“Be faithful in small things because it is in them that your strength lies”, said Mother Theresa, and this story of a courageous dog called Faith and her determined family takes a rather literal approach to this philosophy. The life of Faith is the ultimate yet delightful tale of love and perseverance.
When Faith was only three weeks old, a young man, Reuben, rescued her and took her to the vet, who suggested that she be put to sleep. Faith was a puppy born with deformed front legs, and was only able to move by dragging herself across the floor.
But Reuben and his family were determined to give the puppy a life, and so, with a little creativity (involving peanut butter), sacrifice of sleep and a lot of teamwork, they intensively and wholeheartedly made it their mission to train Faith into the independent, walking dog she is today.
And by walk, we mean like humans do :)
This timeless tale has taught us that hope, faith and love are truly the magic ingredients to make a miracle. If you have not been told of Faith, here’s her appearance on Oprah a few years ago.
