Nothing quite beats a lazy morning in bed with your nearest and dearest while indulging with your favorite breakfast foods. It’s a time where we get to replace our weekly staples of cereal and coffee with our favorite style of eggs or anything drizzled in maple syrup. It’s also a time for you and your partner to reconnect in the bedroom without the worry of having to rush off to work or take the kids to school. Therefore, why not choose breakfast ingredients to stimulate not only your appetite, but your mojo too, and really make breakfast your most important meal of the day.
We think the saying “the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach” really needs to be extended to both sexes. After all, who doesn’t enjoy a good breakfast? So regardless of who’s doing the cooking, here’s a few of the best breakfast ingredients to get your body and brain ready for the bedroom.
Leafy Greens – Not Only A Source Of Your Five A Day
Remember Popeye, the cartoon sailor with a love for spinach? Besides looking to enhance his rippling arm muscles, we think he may have been onto something else as spinach is a potent form of magnesium that helps dilute blood vessels creating a better flow of blood to the genitals. While you may not think it’s the sexiest food on the menu, try whipping up eggs benedict (a muffin with poached eggs with either ham or salmon and spinach) and you’ll not only be firing up your taste buds, but your blood flow further south!
Maca
You may not have heard of this superfood, dubbed “natural viagra” as it originates from Peru and Bolivia and comes in powder form (so try adding it to your morning smoothie or juice). However, now’s your chance to take note, as it’s a huge libido enhancer and regulates your hormones and improves overall sexual function.
Rumor has it, the properties of Maca are so powerful that the Incan Imperial Warriors dating back as far as 2000 years used maca before conquering villages… and women. So perhaps use with caution.
Tea
Tea is famous for its antioxidant properties (as it contains catechin), which also increases blood flow, promoting brain and sex power. For the body conscious among you, higher properties of catechin are found in green tea, which is also great for burning fat. One study carried out by the Journal Of Nutrition found that by drinking three to five cups of green tea a day over a 12 week period, people lost 5% of bodyweight. Not bad, eh? So switch off that coffee machine and opt for some green tea to not only help with your sexual performance, but your waistline too.
Fruit
While an apple a day keeps the doctor away, it seems peaches, oranges and grapefruit increases sperm count (more specifically when men consume more than 200 milligrams of vitamin C a day). Studies have yielded incredible results with infertile men being able to impregnate their partners after 60 days. Therefore, if you’re trying for a baby, even more reason to stock up on your daily intake of vitamin C. And for some sensuality, why not inject a little color and add few berries to your breakfast? Red subconsciously is sexy and berries are also high in those ever-so-good antioxidants.
And lastly, if you’re after one more ingredient for a little boost, watching your partner cook with their bedroom hair (and not much else!) is quite possibly the ultimate aphrodisiac! So this weekend, why not tantalize all your senses and take the time to reconnect in the kitchen and the bedroom by using some of the ingredients above at breakfast.
