Thank You: The 2 Words That Matter The Most, And Yet Are Not Often Expressed

In 3 precious minutes, Dr. Laura Trice shares with the TED audience the power of 2 words that matter the most, but are often not expressed, or taken for granted — “thank you“. These words are deceptively simple, but have the power to deepen a friendship, to repair a bond, and to make sure another person knows what they mean to you. Try it. Thank someone who care about today.

She is so right. People need to hear this. When I was a kid I never heard the praise I needed from the people who should have been giving it (had a lot of other garbage going on as well). So, when someone did something for me I couldn't say Thank You because I felt, on some level I guess, that I didn't deserve what they did. Using the word Please would have prefaced the "need for something" – but I didn't deserve anything – so I asked for nothing (thus keeping me from having to say Please). Saying Please or Thank You would have drawn more attention to me so I just couldn't say it. It's hell being a kid. Thank god that's all behind me…
Fast forward 35 years – I am one of a rare breed ( at least in the places I've lived) who actually says Thank You and Please all the time. It bothers me that other people don't posess these manners. Now, when I make mention of the fact that most people I meet come across as rude for not using these basic words, I am perceived as cynical. I can't win for losing.
Oh well…PLEASE know that I am being sincere when I say: THANKS for listening.

Giving thanks to someone is more powerful than most people know. Being thankful for everything in our life and being specific about it is so very important. WHY? We are all apart of the Universe, as parts that make up the greater whole. When we give thanks to anything or anyone we are giving thanks to ourselves at the same time. If I ever want others to give me thanks for what I do, than I must give thanks first. It all starts and ends with-in each of us. If I am not willing to give (it) first than I can never expect to get (it) in return. (It) all starts and ends with us individually! Make (it) happen! Thanks you all very much for the video's and the opportunity the share in return!

Finer Minds with Vishen Lakhiani and Family you are wonderful blessings with all the information that you continue to produce.
I have recently became aware of my life purpose and that is to study and learn all I can about my spirituality and mind and to care for those that need any kind of help such as the elderly, the young, the searching and the needy etc. I have been reading everything I can get my hands on and watching any video that I find and I just cant get enough. I have been unemployed man at the height of my carrer and have recently felt this great desire for my spiritual enlightenment and the journey thereof. Very tough times have brought about what looks to be a new life.
Great people of mind Valley and Vishen Lakhiani, thank you so much for your compassion.

Hey EVERYONE :) I feel great, thanks for asking. After I saw this video something clicked in me… I wanted to do something…. something that would allow people to say THANK YOU as many times as they like to whomever, even say it without a reason. So I created ThankUnited. The site is a few days old is dying already. All you need to do is say thank you on it and that is it. The story of how I stumbled upon this video from a FinerMinds newsletter is all up in the blog. Please visit it and give a few thank yous. NO ONE, i mean.. no one but me has done it yet. Its quite sad :) THANK YOU ALL!!! FinerMinds is AWESOME. Click on the link and ADD YOUR THANK YOU ;) FOR FREEEEEEEE… :)
