Have you ever wondered what sound looks like? We hadn’t either until we saw this video on cymatics (the study of visible sound and vibration), which shows what you can do with a vibrating metal plate, a bit of sand and anything turned up to a high frequency!
In the video, the sand on the plate forms shapes as the frequency of the sound changes and gets louder. The higher the frequency, the more intricate the shapes in the sand becomes. Amazing!
